Linda Madden
I am a mid-stage PhD candidate at the University of Auckland, working within the School of Environment. My background and interest lies in cultural geography, and my doctoral research focuses on animal geographies in Auckland City. Here, I draw on assemblage theory and posthuman philosophy to investigate non-human agency and embodied encounters between humans and non-human animals. More broadly, I also address the way that ontological and material performances contribute to the production of urban space, and the (shifting) relationship between academic theory and practice.
