Prodyut Bhattacharya
Prodyut Bhattacharya is Professor and Dean of the University School of Environment Management at GGS Indraprastha University in New Delhi, India. Previously, he was at the Indian Institute of Forest Management Bhopal, India where he established the pioneering institution - International Centre for Community Forestry in India. Professor Bhattacharya held several positions in different counties including Fellow of Beahrs Environmental Leadership Program of the University of California, Berkley, USA and Visiting Scientist at the University of Tsukuba, Japan.
Professor Bhattacharya has over 20 years of experience in research, teaching, supervision training and consulting in his areas of expertise. His broad areas of interests are in the intersection of people and the environment, particularly in relation to natural resource management, sustainable livelihood, biodiversity conservation, forest governance, and climate change. Professor Bhattacharya has published widely, with over 120 articles and 5 co-authored books. He was the member of expert committee of the Planning Commission, 12th year plan of the Government of India on NRM and NTFP. He serves as an invited editorial board member for several international journals and the member for the Board of Studies for several premier Universities in India.
