Marta Olasik
MARTA OLASIK – a PhD candidate in the Centre for Social Studies on Sexuality at the University of Warsaw. She works in queer sociology, thus unmasking gender and sexuality as tools of (and for) cultural and social oppression. Her specialisation covers lesbian (non)identities, sexualities, self-identification(s) and specifically lesbian emotions. Ahe is hugely inspired by lesbian feminism of the 1980s on the one hand, and by the field of queer and lesbian geographies on the other. With her conceptual PhD dissertation she hopes to initiate lesbian studies in the Polish academia, increase visibility of non-heterosexual women in the Polish social space, and introduce some adequate discourse concerning them.
